Fine Art Photography
Photography involves more than just taking a pretty picture. There is much science to it. Probably one of the most difficult forms of photography that takes the most creativity and artistic eye is fine art photography. It is a less popular form.
What is fine art photography?
Fine art photography is a form of photography that incorporates art theory into it. Unlike other forms of photography, in addition to conveying a feeling or telling a story, one of these particular types of photographs has to be aesthetically pleasing. That means, the introduction of many art theories are introduced and must be acknowledged and sometimes experimented with.
Aesthetic features
There are many aesthetic features that are considered when any form of fine art photograph is taken. These are a few of these particular types of features:
- Line is an important consideration, as it always is in art. No matter what form of art is being considered, this is true.
- Color is always something that has to be taken note of. Color balance is important, but colors also convey a specific feeling.
- Angle is something that can be altered to create a very interesting effect. It is the most common feature changed because a unique angle almost instantly elevates a picture to being artistic.
All of these can be altered in unique ways to create an image that can be considered art. And they all always have to be considered before the photographer chooses to take a picture of anyt8ing at all.
Types
There are many different types of this particular form of photography. These include types such as architectural photography. This particular form involves taking pictures of structures created by people. The only goal is to express a story or mood with them in a way that is pleasing to the eye. It is not nearly as simple as it sounds, though.
Some forms of this type of photography can cross over with other types as well. Portrait photography, for example, when aesthetically driven can cross over and become fine art. Some famous portrait photographers have went down in history books as being famous modern artists. The photographers that took pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Albert Einstein for example are considered artists.
Fine art photography is an elevated form of photography. This form incorporates art techniques with photography. There are many different types of this form of art and many of the people involved in it have become famous artists in history.
